EMDR Training includes Part I (3-days) and Part II (4-days), as well as 10 hours of consultation on EMDR Therapy, and reading an EMDR Therapy book by Francine Shapiro. This EMDR training is EMDRIA-Approved.
Part I covers the history of EMDR Therapy, the Adaptive Information Processing Model, theories of neurobiological mechanism of action, and the Eight-Phase EMDR Therapy Methodology. Objectives include:
Describe the eight phases of EMDR therapy
Discuss elements of the Adaptive Information Processing Model
Utilize the criteria for client screening for EMDR therapy
Develop a treatment plan to prioritize targets for EMDR processing
Describe the protocol for closing down incomplete sessions
Part II addresses more complex issues with EMDR Therapy: Complex PTSD, Dissociation, Anxiety Disorders, Addictions, Chronic Pain/Illness, and EMDR with Couples and Children. Clinical tools are also provided for enhancing somatic awareness and affect tolerance. Objectives include:
Clarify my use of the 8 phase EMDR therapy approach
Implement 3 strategies to assist with blocked processing
Describe 2 strategies to use with complex PTSD clients
Describe 2 strategies to use with dissociative clients
Apply EMDR with client present day symptoms

Cost: $1300 (includes $1000 for Part I & II and $300 for consultation)
After the $300 deposit, the remaining $1,000 payment can be submitted in installments or all at one time
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
Attendance in a Basic EMDR Therapy Training is limited to licensed mental health professionals, students in an accredited graduate program, and interns on a state licensing track. Students and interns must receive approval for attendance. For information on eligibility requirements, click here.
Elizabeth Legg, PhD, LPC, NCC is a Licensed Psychologist, EMDRIA-Approved Training Provider and Consultant, and Certified EMDR Therapist. She has worked in the mental health field for over 20 years, 17 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor and 7 years as a Psychologist.
She works full-time in private practice, The Road Less Traveled Counseling Center in Denver, Colorado. The focus of her practice includes trauma treatment, couples therapy from an Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy approach, as well as supervision, consultation, and training. She completed her PhD in Counseling Psychology at the University of Northern Colorado, where her dissertation focused on EMDR within couples therapy. She also developed the Denver Collaborative Health Center, a network of skilled independent professionals dedicated to providing quality health care services to treat the whole person, including yoga therapy, massage, Rolfing, and psychotherapy.
